Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why can't I see my desktop on my PC monitor while I am logged in remotely from my iPhone / iPod Touch using Jaadu RDP?

Microsoft's current Remote Desktop implementation locks your PC's monitor when you are logged in using Jaadu RDP. For example Windows XP will show the following message on your PC's monitor while you are using your desktop from your iPhone or iPod Touch:

    Locked XP Desktop

If you'd like to be able to see your desktop on your PC monitor while logged on through your iPhone or iPod Touch we recommend you use Jaadu VNC instead.

  2. Does Jaadu RDP support streaming videos from the PC to the iPhone / iPod Touch?

The remote desktop protocol was not designed to stream high quality, full-motion videos like movies. While video streaming does work, we do not recommend using Jaadu RDP to stream high frame-rate videos. Audio will work properly, however you may see choppy video updates.

  3. I modified my XP Home or Vista Home PC to enable Remote Desktop using instructions I found on the net. I can see my desktop in Jaadu RDP but can't get audio streaming to work. How do I fix this?

Remote Desktop requires XP Professional, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate (see our requirements page). Audio streaming does not work on Windows XP Home and Vista Home PCs that have been patched using the instructions posted on the net. This is a general problem with the instructions posted on the net and is not specific to Jaadu RDP. Audio streaming does not work even when using Micorsoft's RDP client for PCs that have been modified this way.
